Chrysler Repair: sebring stalls, throttle position sensor, continuity resistance

Question
Sorry about the delay. I checked out the Egr and it seems to be working fine moving freely. The car still stalls. I'm thinking its the injectors. Drives fine except when stopping. It idles very low and shuts off if you don't touch the pedal to keep it running. Thanks John

Answer
Hi John,
Before I would look at injectors which is a much bigger job I would suggest spending some attention on the throttle body, focussing on the throttle position sensor and the automatic idle speed motor. I would begin by cleaning the throat and the back side of the throttle plate and the by-pass idle air passage. Then I would pull the three wire plug on the TPS and measure the continuity (resistance)  between the center pin and either side pin while moving the throttle lever back and forth near the closed position to see if there might be a discontinuity in the resistance that is throwing off the mixture at idle. Finally I would would pull the idle speed motor and see if its tip is hung up or cruddy in the passage way into which it fits so that you aren't getting good control of the idle mixture via the by-pass passage. Those are fairly quick and easy items compared to injectors which usually in my thinking don't have a failure to idle symptom associated with their malfunction. Let me know if you need specifics about those suggestions.
It is good that you checked the EGR in any case.
