Chrysler Repair: my car wont start, chrysler sebring, car wont start

Question
hi i have a chrysler sebring 96 v6 2.5 and it wont start unless i pull the #4 plug out but when i put the plug back in the car cut off so i change the distrbutor cap and now i dont get any spark at all now

Answer
Hi Oakley,
I have some questions about this history. Did you mean that you actually removed the #4 spark plug from the cylinder head or did you mean that you removed the spark wire and connector cap from the spark plug in order to make it start?
When you changed the distributor cap did you disconnect either of the two electrical plugs to the distributor or leave them alone as they were? Did you remove and replace the rotor? Could the rotor be "open" between the coil tower contact and its tip (did you measure the resistance between those two points on the rotor? Let me know about any of these possibilities.
