Chrysler Repair: 1990 Newyorker Fifth Avenue motor mounts, 350 chevy, foot pounds

Question
Hi Roland,  We have a creaking clunking noise
when starting up from a stop or going to a stop. The tire shop checked out the front end and found all 4 motor mount rubber bushings bad.  They cannot do the repair.  Another shop said special tools are needed to replace the bushings.
The last motor mount I replaced was on a 350 chevy!  Is this something I can do in a carport with a floor jack?   3.3 v-6 with air.
Thank You.  Scott

Answer
Hi Scott,
I don't happen to have a specific Chrysler manual for the 3.3 V-6 as used in a '90 vehicle. However the engine when used in the '94 on the LH body appears to be straightforward to change the mounts:  Remove insulator nuts from top of mounting bracket. Lift vehicle with a hoist or jack and put on jack stands. Support the engine with a floor jack with a full width piece of wood across the oil pan. Remove the lower attaching nuts on the underside of the insulator frame. Raise the engine enough to remove the mount. Then install new insulator, lower the engine onto the mount, remove the jack. Tighten the upper nuts to 45 foot pounds, then lower the vehicle and attach the lower nuts to 45 foot-pounds. Rear mount is done the same way with respect to the transmission. Sorry to not have the specific Chrysler shop manual for 90-92 when it was used on your C-body vehicle.
