Chrysler Repair: Mystery, speedometer needle, model chrysler

Question
Hello Roland I would like to first thank
you for your time.Well I have a situation that goes like this.I have a 2000 chrysler and it 1).turns off when i make a stop at the light. 2).The speedometer seem to behave wierd. It seems to want to rev up on its own then the car turns off.3) The funny thing is I show no error codes coming back when i checked it at Autozone. The problems seems electrical but im not sure. The only way im able to run it for a few days without a problem is to keep resetting the battery in which ive done about 10 time.I hope ive described the problem well
.
thanks

alex

P.s looking up at the ford recalls for that car i found a recall for a fuel delivery sensor.Dont know if this would help in your diagnosis.

Answer
Another few questions:
Does the car idle alright when you start it? And does it always die when you come to a stop, no matter how fast you have been driving just before you stop? Or do you have to have been going 35-40 mph or more and then stop for it to die?

Hi Alex,
I am a little bit confused. What model Chrysler and what size engine and type of transmission is in the car? Is it the speedometer or the tachometer (engine rpm) that revs up before the engine dies? and does this only happen when you come to a stop? And do you hear the engine actually rev up or is it just the tachometer or speedometer needle that jumps? I'm not sure what you mean by 'resetting the battery'. Do you mean recharging it with a battery charger or do you mean disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cables? And did you mean the Ford or the Chrysler recalls? Can you tell me where you got the recall listing if it came from the internet? Any specifics about the sensor would be relevant for me to know.
Does the car only die when you slow down and come to a stop? or will it die when you a cruising along. Or when you are accelerating?
I am sorry to ask so many questions, but I just can't understand what is happening well enough to come up with any suggestions for you.
So please write back.
Roland
