the blower motor will not shut off  .  the car is a 1998 chrysler concorde lxi digital controls changed the controls not that it still does it?

Answer
Hi Teddy,
I couldn't quite understand the question, but it appears that even though you changed the Automatic Temperature controls, the heater blower motor still won't shut off. If that is the case I believe that you changed the wrong part. The heater systems have a separate module that puts out the 14 various voltages to produce the different fan speeds. The control unit controls that module, but when the module fails the controls have no effect and blower just runs on by itself.
It is a solid state device with a couple of transistors and a heat dissipator block with fins. It is positioned directly adjacent to the blower motor with all the electronics actually located in the air duct (to cool them) and the main thing you will see is a rectangular black end piece that has two sets of wires coming out of it (2 and 4 wires in the sets). To get to it, you need to remove the under dash insulator panel below the glove box. You will notice a recess in the left end ducting into which the panel must fit when you put it back. Then look for the wires (one set comes from the controls the other pair goes to the blower motor). The end panel of the module is held in place by a couple of screws which when removed allow the removal from the air duct. See if you can find a used one at a wrecking yard (do-it-yourself type) for a more economical price on the module. Just unplug the wires and remount. That should do it. If you have any electronic skills or know someone who does, you might be able to figure out which component on the module is bad and just get a part from the electronics supply house and solder it in place of the bad one.
