Chrysler Repair: 1993 Lebaron Convertible Power Window Repair, 1993 chrysler lebaron, chrysler lebaron convertible

Question
Dear Ronald,
I have just purchased a 1993 Chrysler Lebaron convertible, and my passenger side rear window will not function at all. I cannot get that particular window to go up or down, yet all of the other windows work perfectly. Would the switch, or the motor be the first place to start looking? If you could please try and help me with this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.
              Thanks!

Answer
Hi Greg,
The rear 1/4 windows are one of the routine problem areas. I would certainly check the switch function first. The left rear is connected by the dark blue/white and the red/black wires, while the right one is connected to the gray/black and the dark green/white wires. If you put a voltmeter across the 2 wires for a given window you should find 12V when you press the switch for that window and the polarity should reverse when you go from the up request to the down request.
If you find both window's switches to be working then it has to be the motor under the window. I would then begin by reviewing the recent message at the Yahoo Chrysler Lebaron Club:
www.autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/thechryslerlebaronclub/
and do a search for "rear 1/4 window" for input on where folks are getting their parts for the repair, etc. I can send you the shop manual section on the procedure for removing and replacing the motor mechanism but I have to xerox and snail mail it to you.
So give the switch a try, and let me know if you want the pages from the manual.
Roland
