Chrysler Repair: injector connectors - 95 3.5, chrysler dodge dealership, flat pieces

In the process of changing rocker cover gaskets on a 95 Concorde w/3.5 I disconnected the fuel injector connectors. When re-installing the connectors onto the injectors I hit a problem. The connectors have a flat piece on each side of them that basically keep falling off. Is there a trick installing the connectors onto the injectors so as to keep the flat pieces on each side of the connector from coming off?

Hi Bill,
I am sorry to say that i have not experienced that sort of a problem, so I can't picture what the flat piece is that you are speaking about. I would suggest that you stop by a Chrysler-Dodge dealership and check with the parts counter person who may be able to pull a similar harness off the shelf so you can show him what you are having trouble with. If you asked in the context of buying a replacement he might be more amenable to looking into this with you.  Alternatively, ask the shop manager about it. You are probably not unique, so raising the question at the dealership might get you some help.
