Chrysler Repair: 98 Cirrus LXi - Timing Belt at 92K Miles?, manual roland, timing belt replacement

Question
Hi Roland. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!  Question 1: What is the OEM recommended replacement interval for the timing belt on the V6?  Question 2: Is the valvetrain for this engine interference or non-interference?

Thanks a bunch.

Answer
Hi Rick,
I have the '96 manual and for that model year the timing belt replacement is recommended at 105,000 miles. Of course you can inspect it easily and verify whether indeed it needs to be replaced and thereby go further on the original belt. The piston-valve interface is non-intereference on that engine according to the same manual.
