Chrysler Repair: REMOTE PROGRAMING, chrysler town and country, original remotes

Question
I bought a 1997 Chrysler Town and Country lxi van.  It has a security/keyless entry system installed at the factory, but I don't have the original remotes.  I do have two remotes from a 2000 Plymouth breeze and have been told that they will work.  I have also been told that there is a terminal/terminal board behind the glove box or in the overhead console, but I don't see it.  Please advise me.  Thank you!

Answer
Hi Gerald,
Based upon my manuals for the car lines in the early 90's, the remote keyless module is located ABOVE the glove box and you need to remove the box to get access to it. It should have two plugs (black and blue, both with 8 pins, but only 8 wires and 4 wires respectively used). In those cars, once you get to the module there should be a free dark green wire on the black plug that when grounded to a metal surface nearby will allow you to program a new transmitter.
You have to have the ignition ON when you ground the module's grounding wire. The locks should cycle on and off. Then press any button on the transmitter. The locks will cycle again. Then press any button on the second transmitter. The locks will cycle again. Then remove the grounding wire of the module. I unfortunately can't confirm the location or procedure for the '97 van, but it is a good chance the location and approach is identical as for the cars. If you don't find it above the glove box, then check the overhead console.
