Chrysler Repair: Distributor, snail mail, electrical connector

Question
I am about to have replaced the distributor module on my 1997 2.5l Cirrus for the second time.
I am providing the repair service the part. What would be a reasonable time for them to replace this unit?

Answer
Hi Larry,
I have the Chrysler shop manual for this engine and it shows a 14-step removal process (where each step is simple, e.g. remove bolt, unplug electrical connector, etc.) and it all involves simple hand tools. It is an ideal job for a do-it-yourselfer. I haven't worked on that engine myself, but I imagine the first time I tried it I would spend an hour on the job. A mechanic with experience should be able to do it in less time. If you like, I could try scanning the couple of pages that list the steps and show some of the items involved and email them to you tomorrow when I will have access to a scanner.
If you let the shop do it, and they haven't worked on that before,  I think the info would speed up the job. Just in case the scanner doesn't work, what is the time frame that you have before you must get it done; in case I have to xerox and snail mail the pages to you?
