Chrysler Repair: flashing lights on instrument panel, chrysler dealer, flashing light

Question
I just bought a chyrsler town & country 1998,the panel for a/c controls was flashing took to a/c specialist thought that it needed to be charged but it was full. dont know why the lights are flashing and there is no cool air @ all.

Answer
Hi Christine,
I don't have manual for the control panel as recent as '98.
But is this a standard unit with manual controls (and if so which light was flashing?) or is it an automatic temp control unit with a digital readout (and if so which light was flashing or the whole readout). I ask this because for the earlier units, such a flashing light was the sign that the unit has detected an internal malfunction and if you follow a procedure you can get it to give you a coded number that tells you what is wrong. So let me know and I'll possibly be able to suggest how to go thru the readout/self-diagnostic process. I suspect if the system is charged and the compressor is running then the reason for no cool air may be that a door that is supposed to sent the air thru the cooling coils is not in the right position and so it is sending the air around the coils. A Chrysler dealer may be more familiar with that sort of issue than would be an AC specialty shop.
