Question1997 Eagle Talon Esi. (I know you say to 96, but i'm sure 95-98 models are all the same in this area) I plugged a neon light into my cig. lighter and when I turned them on the fuse on the cig. lighter blew. I can't remember but I think the power lock fuse blew as well. My power door lock stuck locked, so i pulled the relay from behind the radio. I replaced the relay, but the same problem is still there. When I plug in the relay the doors lock, and only unlock when I manually unlock them. When I push the lock button nothing happens, but when I push the unlock button I can hear the relay go, and the locks click, but nothing happens. (the vehicle is equipped with an after market anti start system, and keyless entry, but everything worked right until the fuses blew)
Is it possible that I burnt some wires somewhere?

I'm a bit unprepared to deal with the wiring details of the Eagle and its sister vehicles because I don't own the complete wiring diagrams for that line of cars. Such a set of diagrams is indespensible for the trouble shooting needed to solve your problem. I do have the Haynes manual which give some rather generic suggestions, about 10 in number. Rather than type them in may I xerox and mail them to you? If so, just send me a postal mailing address and I'll get them off to you.

P.S. This system is mediated by the body computer which is located on the passenger side kick panel (just to the right of the passenger's right shin). Some times water will intrude around the windshield, fall on the two 25-pin plugs on the top of the body computer and play havoc with a random system that happens to get shorted out. So in the meantime I would suggest that you remove that computer module, pull the plugs and inspect for debris, water, or corrosion. You might want to get some spray contact cleaner if you find some water, etc. as this will clean things up and evaporate the water. Then see if the door locks work right.
