Chrysler Repair: Transmission Flushing ??, mr lacey, plymouth voyager

Mr. Lacey,

Our situation: We took our 1997 Plymouth Voyager in for service. Somehow (?) they decided it would
be a good idea to "flush" the transmission. They advised us to do so. So we trusted their judgement and gave them the "go ahead". A week after the work was done, having driven the van every day since then, the trouble happened.

The transmission is totally locked up. The front drive wheels will not rotate. If put into reverse the car
moves slightly forward and then just sits still. If the throttle is slightly pressed, the transmission "clangs"
very loudly into gear and just stops. It will not engage into drive but "clangs" into gear and will not move,
just as in reverse. The vehicle cannot be driven.

The tow truck driver had to "drag" the vehicle about 1 foot in order to put his dolly under the front wheels since the tranny is locked up.

Here's a quote from the invoice:
"TRANSMISSION FLUSH...COMPLETE FLUID EXCHANGE USING WYNNS FLUSH MACHINE, ADD
CLEANER AND CONDITIONER TO EXTEND TRANSMISSION LIFE. ROAD TEST VEHICLE."

We took it back to the shop and are awaiting their diagnosis.

Any advice would be appreciated. I know, since we were having no transmission problems, we "should"
not have fallen for their sales pitch.

Could the "flush" have damaged the tranny? Do we have any recourse if they say it was not their fault ? The was NO indication of any transmission problems prior to this. NONE AT ALL. All smooth operation as far as the tranny goes. No other repairs to the transmission that we are aware of.

this is the the wroang tranny fluid it should be made by mopar this is what they did wroang . you must give them a call and see what tipe they used .
if the tranny never was flushed it is better not to do it with high miles . they sold you a scam and yes they have runeied your tranny . it will be hard to prove but that is nodout in my mind please rate my serivice pete ps they should have changed the filter also they did not pete
