Answer
Hi Rose,
The trans's electronic controller has probably sensed that something is wrong and so has put it into "limp-in" mode which is designed to prevent further damage until it can be corrected. The trans will now drive the car in second gear only, so keep your speeds down so as not to over rev the engine.
These controllers store the fault information as a coded two-digit number which can be readout with a code reader that a competent trans mechanic should have on hand to help diagnose such problems. Because this occured again so soon after the repair, it should be corrected for free, under the usual 90-day or longer warranty period. So drive it back to the repair shop and have them determine the problem and fix it. Let me know what happens. If they don't fix it, they should give you back the money you spent, or you can then go to small claims court for restitution.
