Hello Homer,
I just realized I was "maxed out" for the past 12 hours. So that doesn't happen again, please reply to my email box and we'll work on your problem directly without a limit on the number of exchanges per day:

Hello Homer,
I have to ask a couple of questions:
What is a Chrysler Conquest*(what country was it made in and where was it sold?)
Which engine does it have in it?
That will help me to give you a hand with this.
In the meantime, the most useful thing to do would be to try to get the fault codes that are likely stored in the engine controller memory to readout. Try using the ignition key: turn it "on-off-on-off-on" and leave it "on" (doing this quickly, no longer than 5 seconds). Then watch the 'check engine' light to begin flashing, then pause, flashing, pause, etc. Count the number of flashes before each pause and keep track of the numbers. Repeat the readout and verify the counts are correct. Then group them in pairs in the order that they came out, thus forming two digit numbers. You may notice that the pause is shorter between the digits of a given number, and longer between the numbers themselves. Then send me a 'follow-up' question telling me the results of your readout. By the way, 55 will be the last number (two groups of 5 flashes each) and that is the code for "end of readout".
I have the troubleshooting manual for several of the possible engines, and we can look up the possibilities of what is wrong based upon what fault codes you show.
There is also an essay on fault codes at the site:
http://www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html
which gives the meaning of the code numbers. But then you need to get specific info for what exactly might be the diagnostic tests or parts to replace to complete the repair.

Answer
Hi Homer,
While I know virtually nothing about the mitsubishi 2.6L turbo, when you say that the spark is orange yellow I would wonder whether the spark coil is going bad. The Chrysler manuals generally tell you to test first by pulling the wire from the center of the distributor cap and then hold the tip of it 1/4" from the cylinder head and have the engine cranked for 5 seconds while you observe the quality of the spark. Then it also suggests cranking again only this time gradually move the wire tip further away from the head and observe for arcing around the other end of the wire where is comes from the spark coil to observe any arcing at the tower. Either a weak spark or arcing suggests that the coil is no good.
On the fuel filling the cylinders full of gas, if you mean that literally (rather than it is simply unignited fuel due to perhaps a bad spark) then there must be something wrong with either the control of the fuel injectors (too long a pulse width) or the fuel pressure is too high due to a faulty pressure regulator. But again I claim no erpertise in the imported Chrysler cars, never worked on one.
I wish I could be of more help, and maybe one of these ideas will be of help to you.
