Chrysler Repair: 1995 LHS...Code 65...., vacuum lines, vacuum line

Question
Could you please explain why I would be getting this code during diagnostics?  I was able to retrieve the codes by "limping in". The accompany codes were 12, 21, 35, 77, 55. The "service engine" light comes on after the car has been driven for 3 to 5 minutes. Please assist...

Answer
Hi Dariene,
The code 65 says there is a problem with the manifold tuning system on your 3.5L engine. This system improves performance under wide open throttle by opening a cross over passage between the two intake manifolds. It has a valve mounted inside the manifold and is actuated by an actuator on top of the manifold, a vacuum line from a switching solenoid (mounted on the right inner fender) and a vacuum supply to that switching solenoid. Probably one of the vacuum lines is loose or cracked, so there is nothing unusual about this code coming up on a diagnostic check.
The other codes are similarly reasonable, but it is unfortunate that there are so many of them. The car should run much better after everything is corrected. If you don't have an understanding of the other codes, let me know and I will answer.
