Chrysler Repair: abs, snail mail, inner fender

Question
where is the abs brake relay on a 1993 chrysler town & country
And how can you tell if the abs accumulator is bad

Answer
Hi James,
As my profile says I don't claim expertise on vans but let me give you some info on your questions based upon my quick reading of the '94 fwd car manual that I have on the Bendix 4 abs system. There are shown to be two relays: a 4 pin pump motor relay said to be at the rear of the battery, and an abs system relay with 5 pins on the right inner fender. So look for these in similar locations on your van is all I can suggest.
On the abs accumulators, I think the best help I can give you is to offer to copy the 42 or so pages from the manual that includes a discussion of the moderator assembly wherein the accumulators are located. It is mentioned that the accumulators can't be removed or serviced separate from the moderator assembly. There is a lengthy discussion of bleeding the hydraulic fluid that includes dealing with bleed screws of the two accumulators, and also some discussion of analyzing problems with the system using the diagnostic readout box II that Chrysler sold thru the mid 90's. I have such a box but I have to admit I have never used it on ABS systems, in fact I don't own a car with ABS. So If you would like I can copy these pages and mail them to you by snail mail. The copy cost is $.05 per page, and 2-sided it would be probably around a dollar to mail it to you. So see if you have the ABS 4 system and let me know if you would like the information copied. You can remit to me by Paypal.
