Chrysler Repair: Theft Alarm switches - malfunctioning, computerized inventory system, chrysler cars

Question
In my 1990 Imperial we have a Theft Alarm malfunction. We are looking for arming/disarming switches door panel installed which uses key for operation.  Also dash Theft Alarm switch. The number for the door panel switch is SE 8053002. Tell me you have the answer!

Answer
Hi Viola,
If we assume that the switches are the problem, and that they can't be repaired (which is my inclination when parts are hard to find) then the only ideas I have are to see if there is a Chrysler with security system, of that general time period, in a local wrecking yard that allows one to search and remove the necessary parts yourself OR to avail yourself of the computerized inventory system of the Chrysler Corp and its dealers. We have three such yards within 15 miles here in the San Jose (CA) each area with a specific section for Chrysler cars so you don't have to walk the entire yard searching. And you might ask the nearest dealer to seek at other dealerships and regional parts centers for the parts that you need.
Now if you aren't certain it is the switches, perhaps the wiring or fuses, and if you haven't performed the self- diagnostic tests on the system, and have an electric test meter and some curiosity, I would be able to xerox copy and postal mail you a 6 page essay from the 1990 shop manual on how to go about diagnosing the problem. I have the wiring diagrams from '89-'91 of which no doubt one will apply to your vehicle. It may just be that the switch contacts are a bit corroded and could be cleaned up and reused.
I must admit personal ignorance of this system, but I do have the written materials to share.
So let me know if any of these suggestions are of interest to you.
