Chrysler Repair: convertable top, chrysler lebaron, postal mail

on a 89 lebaron, i'm installing a new top, the cable that runs down the side of the top along the top of the door and runs down torward the back seat-has a spring and a piece that looks like a master link off of a chain. could you please tell me where that piece gets attatched to ---- thanks donnie

Hi Donnie,
I have an '89 lebaron also, but it is a coupe. So I can't picture what you are speaking of, but although the '89 shop manual doesn't describe or show such a cable, the '94 manual I have does show it. It appears to be associated with the headliner and is said (and possibly shown) to attach at the interior quarter panel's top edge. Is there a similar one on the other side to look at? If not,
