Answer
Hello Mario,
When you use the term "will not turnover" that to me means the starter motor, but I assume that you mean the engine won't start even though the starter motor is working. Let me know if that is not your problem, but rather the starter motor itself is not functioning. If the only thing that happened is you ran out of gas, you poured in 2 gallons of gas and still the engine won't start, then it is possible that there was a lot of junk in the bottom of the tank that was sucked into the fuel filter and clogged it. Another possibility is that you really didn't run out of gas but the engine stalled out when you were low on fuel but not truly out. I would try to readout the engine controller memory to see if it has stored any fault codes that might explain a no start sitution. It can't tell us about the fuel filter theory, but it can tell us if something else may be causing the engine to not start.
Just take your key and turn the ignition switch as follows:
on-off-on-off-on and leave it 'on'. Do this switching action rapidly so it takes no more than 5 seconds. Then observe the "check engine" light in the dash to begin flashing, pause, flashing, pause, etc. As the flashes occur count how many there are before each pause and make a note of those numbers, in order. The final two sets of flashes will be 5 each. That is the code for "end of code readout".
Repeat the readout procedure to verify that you counted the flashes accurately. Then write back and tell me the results. I'll respond telling you if there is any indication that there is something causing 'no start' other than a possible clogged filter. Another possibility is the fuel pump is not putting out sufficient pressure due to its intake screen being plugged with dirt. But that would not be something to pursue until we clear up the question of a fault code and the external replaceable fuel filter being clogged. That fuel filter is located in front of the fuel tank, on the right side of the body underneath the rear floor area. But let me know what you get on the readout.
