Chrysler Repair: no speedometer, transmission control module, ebay

Question
I replaced the vehicale speed sensor and the pcm, and I was told to reset the pinion factor   I don't kvow how.  Can you please instruct me how to without going to a dealership.  thank you

Answer
Hi Jeff,
I have not heard of the "pinion factor", but if it involves some part of the transmission control module (4-speed electronic transaxle) or the pcm then I believe that it can only be communicated with via a diagnostic readout box which is a pretty expensive diagnostic tool (DRB II go for $300-400 (used) on eBay) and also an accesory tool for flash re-programming of the memory (in 1992 and later models only). You didn't say which model, year, and type of instrument cluster that you have. Are you certain that the non-function of the speedo has to do with the data bus and and not the instrument cluster? Let me know.
