Answer
Hi Bob,
I have the '85 diagrams. The 12V comes from pin 6 of the power module. It is split (a splice) to service the fuel pump, the injectors, and the coil, so all of those would be "out" not just the coil if that were your problem. The logic module at pin 1-17 (dark blue/yellow wire) carries the autoshutdown signal to pin 18 of the power module (that signal if present energizes a virtual relay in the power module that then puts out the 12V on pin 6 of the power module). If the logic module doesn't get the signal from the hall sensor at pin 1-10 (gray stripe wire) then it will not send the asd signal to the power module. That is my first reading of this early EFI system. Which engine do you have. by the way?
So I would check all those wires and plugs to make sure they are all clean and connected. Jumping the voltage to the coil will work, but it removes a safety feature designed to prevent a fire in the engine dies as the result of an accident, etc.
