Chrysler Repair: Wont start, plymouth caravelle, timming belt

I have a 1986 plymouth caravelle with a 2.2 Lt engine that won't start. It's only getting less than 1/2 volts to the coil,i've checked all fuseable links cleaned all ground wires,I checked negitive coil wire were it comes out of power module and it's the same.checked the codes and got code42,automatic shutdown relay driver circuit,I don't know what that means can't find it in my book. It has the power module with the 10 pin&12 pin conectors if that helps.I would be thankfull for any help.  Thank you

Carl,the shutdown relay is built into the power module and if it is bad you would need a new or rebuilt module.Code42
is al;lways bad news.tap on the module to see if the voltage changes.Are you testing voltage with the wires still
connected to the coil?If so ,take the coil wire out of the top of the distributor and place it so it is 1/2 inch from ground.Next un-plug the round plug goen to the distrib.
on the wire harness side take "a short test wire" and
very quickly,touch#1 to # 3.you should hear a buz and get a spark.---next,ck the timming belt and dissconnect the battery for 15 seconds to clear the codes.Spin the engine over for 10 seconds and test for codes.The problem is goen to be the p/u coil or the module..Let me know !!ps.How long
have you been working on cars ??thankyou,,,tm PS.Can you hear the fuel pump run for a sec. or two when you turn the key to "on"? let me know !!  tm., The power module in the engine compartment is what gives power to the engine .When it sees the engine turn over"via the p/u coil in the distributr" it turns on the power,if the module dont get a signal that the engine is turning over,it is in open loop with no power to the j2 wire harness. Hope that helps. tm.
Now with all that said,there is no voltage to check at the coil,unless the engine is turning,there is no voltage to check at the fuel pump>>unless the engine is turning over
and "the computer in the kick panel"sses a good tps.voltage
and kicks in the power./I just feel better after telling you that !!Get that thing runnen !! I get to put on a new drive belt on our washing machine saterday..WISH ME LUCK !!
