Classic/Antique Car Repair: power drum brakes, grease seal, chevy impala

Hi I have a 67 Chevy impala with power drums all the way around I rebuilt all of it with all new parts the car stop great except that the pass side grabs first causing the tire to lock up I have re-bleed and adjust the brakes and it keeps doing it these are not aftermarket they are stock for that year

Pull the front drums off and make sure that a wheel cylinder is not leaking or that a grease seal is not dripping grease on the shoes. You need to look at both front wheels as fluid can cause a brake to grab or slip. Next check to make sure that you have the brake shoes on correctly. The shoes for that car are different lengths. The shorter shoe goes on the front position and the longer shoe goes on the rear position.If this is not correct then you will have pulling or grabbing. If all of these are correct the next step is to have the brake drums measured with a micrometer. If they are oversize or one is oversize replacement is in order. They musy not be more than .090" inch oversize. If these do not solve the problem get back to me and we will go to the next step.
