Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1950 Ford Custom master cylinder removal, clevis pin, 1950 ford custom

Question
Sir,
My father and i have recently acquired a 1950 Ford Custom. We are in the process of rebuilding the brakes. We are having problems removing the master cylinder from the vehicle. Sadly we have no paper information on how to remove it. We are wondering if you could help us.

Answer
This is one of the easiest old car master cylinders ever to remove. There are two bolts that hold the cylinder to the frame. But before removing those bolts, remove the cotter pin and clevis pin that holds the master cylinder push rod to the bottom of the brake pedal. Then at the other end of the master cylinder remove the hydraulic brake line. Once that is done remove the two bolts holding the cylinder to the frame and lower the cylinder out of the car. Good luck.
