Classic/Antique Car Repair: my 1948 Dodge Deluxe fluid drive wont start, fly wheel, button switch

Question
I can't get my 48 to start, I have changed the start button switch, upgraded battery and tried to change the solenoid and it just made a grinding noise and still didn't start....please help.

Answer
Hello Cesar,

You've got a complex question here with very little information to guide me. So, let's start at the beginning with the "grinding" noise. Is the engine turning over when the noise is made or is it not. (the starter is making a grinding sound but the engine is not turning over). If the answer is "Yes", your problem is likely in the fuel or electrical systems of the engine. If the answer is "No", the problem lies within the starter itself or how it engages the fly wheel

Write me back with the answer and we can go to the next step!

Thanks,

Bob
