Classic/Antique Car Repair: mettalic paint for truck, quality paint job, chevy silverado

Hi I ahve a 88 chevy silverado ext. cab 2wd. I was just wondering about the average price the repaint the truck. Right now it has the original stock paint which is coming off. It looks like a mettalic maroon. So I was wonding how much on average would that cost with my big truck? What would be the differnce in price from the mettalic maroon from a basic black paint?

Paint jobs can vary widely, from $500 to $5,000.
A basic black would be a bit less expensive.
The paint shop would have to take a computer-sample
of the current paint in order to mix an exact match,
which would cost more. A good quality paint job that
would be equal to the original paint job should run
you between $1500 to $2000.
