Classic/Antique Car Repair: fuel pump rebuild kit 1951 chevy six, chevs of the forties, pressure lubrication


Question
Where or who has one to purchase? It is the type with the bowl on top and vacu on bottom.motor is 235 numbers say it is a 56 but the pump is 51 or earlier.that is what is on it.This was my dads truck and it is a 1952.I found it in his barn after he passed, I could not believe he still had it. He bought it new. Thanks for any help and i want to keep it.

Check with "Chevs of the Forties" on line. They have rebuild kits and possibly new pumps. They also could help you identify the the right engine you have. (I cannot tell from the information
presented).

It is not unusual for different model engines showing up in another model trucks as 216 were almost interchangeable back then. The only real difference is that GMC engines had the more desirable pressure lubrication for the main bearings while Chevy stuck with the old fashioned "splash" system until about 1954.
