Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1970 Cutlass SX, postwar models, tag decoder

Hey, I have a 1970 Cutlass SX and I wanted to decode both bin and body tag to try and get more info on the vehicle.My plans are to rebuild it back to factory specifications but I first need to know what those are and I you could help send me in the right direction that would be highly appreciated Thanks

There are several site on the net that offer decode services and charts for free. This is one that I use and they are good. Go to web site  http://www.classiccardatabase.com/postwar-models/Oldsmobile.php to decode the VIN.
his one also works to decode the 1970 VIN    http://www.tpocr.com/oldsvin8.html
This one is for a trim tag decoder for a 1969 but should be very close to your 1970   http://www.tpocr.com/oldsvin8.html
also check http://www.tpocr.com/ and then follow the menu as it lists all kinds of stuff.
