Classic/Antique Car Repair: engine quits, mass flow sensor, engine drivetrain

I have a 55 chevy and when the temp gets to 190 deg the engine quits it will start up again right away but as soon as i step on gas pedel it will quit running if i let it cool down it will start and run until temp gets to 190 and a week before I drove it to a show that was 80 miles away with no problems

Hello Wayne,

It would help in answering your question if you'd advise what engine/drivetrain you have in your car including the date manufactured (if not original the original motor)? Your problem almost sounds applicable to a "modern" engine complete with electronic F/I, Mass flow sensor and computer controls.
