Classic/Antique Car Repair: 67 cadillac shalls, cadillac eldorado, coil wire

well i have a cadillac eldorado 1967 and last week it started shalling on me and cuts off when i liked up under the hood the ignition coil wire was smokin and now it wont start at all

Hi Steve:
I think you solved your own problem. Your ignition coil is burned out. Check to make sure the distributor and voltage regulator wasn't damaged in the process. The stalling was the indicator that the ignition coil couldn't consistently generate enough voltage to drive the distributor.
