Classic/Antique Car Repair: Brazilian Dart Steering Wheel, hemmings motor news, dodge dart

I have a 1973 Dodge Dart made in Brazil. The accetate steering wheel is now melting, and I no longer can find such part in Brazil. I'm wondering if the american and brazilian Darts could use similar steering wheels, in order I can buy it in the US.

Hello Frateschi,

I see two options here. US darts used a interior-color keyed plastic steering wheel. I've never seen an clear(acetone?)wheel on a US Dart later than the early sixties. Thus, you can either purchase a non-original but correct US wheel or have your existing acetone wheel restored. There are a number of places in the US that could restore such a wheel. Check Hemmings Motor News for sources best for you.
