Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1947 Nash, hemmings motor news, volt system

Question
I got my first project car its a 1947 Nash ambassador, I am replacing all the wires because they are a mess, anyway my ignition coil is not working, it isn't reading on a ohm reader. I can not find an ignition coil that is like mine. It only has one post (believe it to be positive post# and is connected to my lock cylinder switch.# where key goes in#. can I use any ignition coil as long as it's for a 6 volt system, and what will I do as for as lock cylinder switch#keys). would like to stick with the 6 volt system if possible. from what I am told, probably not a great choice for my first project car, but she's pretty and I like her.

Answer
My stock answer for “where can I find….” Is to latch on to a copy of Hemmings Motor News, the old car hobbies classified bible. There are many companies that supply parts for old cars and you will find them in Hemmings. www.hemmings.com. If you cannot find a coil in Hemmings get back to me as I may have some other thoughts.
