Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1936 Plymouth Coupe, hemmings motor news, plymouth coupe

Question
I have a 1936 Plymouth Coupe that I would like to restore.  The vehicle came with the flathead 6 in it, but it did not have the 3 speed manual transmission.  I am having a tough time locating a 36 Plymouth Transmission.  Are there any other makes, years, etc. that would work in it.  Thanks

Answer
My stock answer for “where can I find….” Is to latch on to a copy of Hemmings Motor News, the old car hobbies classified bible. There are many companies that supply parts for old cars and you will find them in Hemmings. www.hemmings.com. Have you tried this? If you have get back to me and we will think up something else. Dodge andChrysler 6 cylinder units of the same year should fit.
