Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1958 MGA 1600, overflow pipe, float chamber

Question
Gasoline is exiting the overflow pipe on the front float chamber while the vehicle is running. I cleaned the needle and seat assembly as well as the lever. The float is working. Do I need to replace the needle and seat?   Thank you

Answer
That would be a good place to start. Also check the float to make sure that it floats and does not sink. I use a small cup of gasoline outdoors and place the float in it and leave it over night. If it is still floating in the morning then it is probably ok.
