Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1931 model A Junction Box, ammeter, hot wire

Question
Do you have any illustrations for the junction box? I believe we have some wires crossed. Also, is there only one junction box?
Thanks,
Bruce

Answer
First off, you should get the Model A mechanics handbook by Les Andrews.  About $35 from MARC or any of the suppliers.  Really good book that we all have and use.
Now the box.  On the right post, passenger side, there should be a yellow wire and that is all.  It goes (two ways from the post), to the ammeter and to the term on the starter. It's a hot wire.  On the left post, there is a yellow with black tracer, (going to the other post on the ammeter), a black with blue tracer going to the wiper mtr., a black wire going to the driver side of the coil, a yellow with black tracer going to the generator.  That's all folks!!!
Have fun and get it running.  Get back to me if you still have problems.
I better explain the other wires.  There is a red wire from the coil to the ign. switch, and then from the ign. switch to the dist.
