Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1973 Ford Battery, electrical sources, backup light

Question
What could be draining the battery while it's sitting still with no accessories on? Battery is new.

Answer
Hi Peter:
You have a short somewhere. This may take a bit of troubleshooting
to find. Start by turning everything on to make sure everything works.
write all the different electrical sources. If something doesn't work,
check the fuse or wiring. Sometime there are fuse inline in the wire.

Start turning everything off and make sure each does turn off. Something
as insignificant as a interior light, glove box light, a license plate light, a stuck backup
light or a blown hood or truck light could be stuck on, so check everything.

Also, just to be sure, check the battery to make sure the car doesn't have some
electrical component straight-wired directly to the battery. I've seen that before also.
