Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1977 fiat spider, fiat spider, cylinder motors

Just got this car it has 1000 miles on the new used motor it will crank but not start up.the previous owner said they were driving it and it just quit. where shouldI start?

You should start by checking the cam timing. The timing belt is prone to skipping a notch, which will stop the engine cold and could damage the valves.

This should be done by a mechanic who is experienced with the FIAT DOHC 4 cylinder motors.
