How do I adjust the bands on a 2 spd. auto trans., 1953 Chevy Bel Air?

Answer
To adjust the powerglide low gear band you need to locate band adjustment stud and loosen the nut. The stud is located just above the shift linkage arm. A 7/32 Allen wrench will fit it. Torque it to 72 in. lbs. and then back it off 3 1/2 to 4 turns.
