QUESTION: I've attached a photo of a car I'm trying to identify: believe it's a plymouth (pre-1953).

ANSWER: It is a 1950 Plymouth.

QUESTION: Thanks for your quick reply -- that's great! All of the images I can find of 1950 plymouths don't seem to have those three circles in a line over the front wheel. That threw me (see example attached). Do you know if it had a name?

Answer
The three circles on the fender were accessory options sold as dress up accessories by auto parts stores. they were fashioned after the portholes that appeared in the 1949 Bucks. This series Plymouth was also the darling of the taxi industry and in NASCAR it was a favorite on the track faster even than the V-8 fords of that era. I was a teenager in 1950 and a total car freak working in my dads garage.
