Classic/Antique Car Repair: Just starting, Please help, hemmings motor news, restoring classic cars

Question
I want to get into restoring classic cars, but I don't know where to start. Where do I begin? where/how do I find the best deals, and how will I know it is the best deal? I'm interested in late sixties muscle cars, particularly Chevy, Pontiac, and Ford. If you could just steer me into the right direction, I would appreciate. Where can I find a site that could answer most of my questions as a beginner?

Answer
My stock answer for where can I find….” Is to latch on to a copy of Hemmings Motor News, the old car hobbies classified bible. There are many companies that supply parts for old cars and you will find them in Hemmings. Also Hemmings published several good columns and stories about cars in every issue. www.hemmings.com. This in itself will not answer specific questions but it will let you know what is going on inside the hobby. Next a good local car club car get you on the inside if the chatter and mix with the guys and gals that are car nuts. Then there is the Adult education course offered by some school systems that can get you into general auto knowledge. Good luck and welcome to the hobby.
