Classic/Antique Car Repair: 58 ford fairlane 500 skyliner, ford fairlane 500, vacuum leak

Question
I just purchased a 58 ford that had been reconditioned.
Problem is after they painted the engine, installed new carb, battery, etc., they forgot to hook up the vacuum wipers.  No hose.  We purchased a new hose and hooked up to the switch, but cannot see where to install on the engine.????

Answer
Look toward the rear of the engine for a "vacuum tree".  It sits somewhere on the intake manifold, screwes into it.  It might have just one nipple, or several.  If your car had power brakes, I doubt it, follow the large vacuum line from the booster to the manifold.  They might have taken the nipple (tree) out and plugged the hole.
Good luck.  The engine won't run good if there is a vacuum leak.
