Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1978 super beetle convertible heater, exhaust pipes, heat exchangers

I had another question but this one involves the heater. It use to blow strong hot
air but then it just stopped. It will blow warm air somewhat but its just not as
strong as it use to be.

 The problem may be the heat exchanger flaps (part of the exhaust pipes) are not opening.  This is controlled by the lever on the right of the emerg brake.  The lever on the left controls how the heat is distributed to the front and rear footwells.  Check out these articles for discussion on repairs:

 By the way, check the flex tubes going from either side of the doghouse to the heat exchangers.
