Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1966 mustang, solenoid problems, starter problems

Question
I recently put in a new battery and changed the terminal wires, however, it won't start. The battery is new and I checked it and its working fine. When I attempt to crank it, it makes a sticking sound. Like the relay is stuck? What could it be?

Answer
Hey JR,

Start by cranking the car while tapping on the solenoid bulging from the starter, sometimes they get bound up and stick. also, you may need to check the solenoid that the main cable (red power cable)goes to on the battery, its mounted next to your battery on the fender well, this may need to be replaced. Turn the key put the car in park and take a screwdriver and touch the two contacts together. if the car doesnt crank, change out the solenoid.
