Classic/Antique Car Repair: 64 Impala SS Steering, 64 impala ss, adjustment nut

Question
I just replaced the power steering control valve in my car. The car now pulls
left. coincidence, or is there an adjustment somewhere that i missed? I have a
327ci with ac.

Answer
There is an adjustment nut on the end of the control valve. With the car on a lift or jacked up on safety stands, disconnect the power cylinder rod. Start the engine and adjust the nut until the rod moves one way or the other. Then turn the nut until the road just moves the other way. Then turn the nut back half the turns between the changing direction. This centers the valve against the internal spring.
