Classic/Antique Car Repair: Willys restoration, willys body, willys club

Question
Hi my question is regarding a 1958 to 1963 Willys wagon that I had planed to restore. I would like to put the Willys' body over another newer frame like a blazer or a toyota . Are there any frames ( I am talking frame , motor, transmission , everything except the body which will come from the willys) that fit better without having to spend lots of money cutting the chasis or things like that? and my second question would be: Who does this kind of swaping , the auto mechanic or the body shop itlself? I mean who would dismantle the receiving car and put the willys' body over it and do the wiring and everything needed to get it runing? thank you for your help. This was a dream of mine to use a Willys' body to be used as a daily driver/fishing trip truck , but with all the comfort of a newer car, a/c, heat, etc. Thanks again. Cla

Answer
I am a Model A guy, so I can't help you much on your willys.  What you want to build is what I call a "cluge job".  You will like it, but no one else will want it when you are finished with it.  It will cost a ton to get it to where you want it.  The old willys with the comfort of a new car.  I don't think a willys club would help you, but they would know all about your willys, and maybe some of the other info you will need.  You could just give this job to a restoration/custom shop and let them do it all.  I'm sure it will be a nice job, but those shops don't always do a good job on corrosion protection, and engine cooling.  they look good, but are not very reliable.  We have the dream cruise here in Mich every year, and those beautiful cars are always sitting on the side with steam coming out.
Why not restore it to original?  It would be very nice and more meaningful, and worth more in the long run.  Not as comfortable as what you want.
Hope I have not screwed you you up with my answer, but I really don't know anything about the old Willys.
