Question
QUESTION: how would i fix a leak in the rear axle of a 1969 dodge super bee  i have changed the seals and bearing twice and the problem is still there   thanks

ANSWER: Which rear end do you have in the car? Do you need to remove the cover plate and remove C clips in the spider gears to get the axles out? Or just remove the bolts on the backing plate and the axle comes out?

QUESTION: just remove the bolts on the backing plate and axles come out i know that it is not a dayna rear end.

Answer
As the seal needs to be driven into the axle housing, it MUST be driven in square with a seal installer tool. I usually go to the hardware store and buy a black iron pipe nipple that is the right diameter to just slide into the axle housing. It will then seat the seal square in the bore. Put an end cap on the nipples outer end and tap the seal in. I now after 50 plus years have an assortment of these seal tools. Also check the bore to make sure that there are no burrs that are preventing the seal from seating.
