Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1930 Model A Short in horn button to light switch, good luck jack, horn button

Question
How do you remove the horn button and light switch in order to install new wiring and repair a short. When I turn on the cowl lights and turn the wheel to the right the horn honks.

Answer
At the base of the column you will find the light switch.  Flip off the bale wire and pull the light switch off of the steering gear.  All of your wiring for the lights are in that pod.  You will see a small keeper at the end of the light switch /horn rod.  Push up on this to relieve the spring pressure and remove the keeper.  The horn rod is now free to remove from the pass. compartment.  It is a very long rod and you may have trouble getting it all of the way out.  The books say to remove the rear window in a coupe, but I have been able to get them out without taking the rr wdo out.  
My best advice:  Join a Model A club and have some fun with that car.  Also, get Les Andrews' book, the red one on how to fix the A.  I think it is called a mechanic's hand book.  You can get it from MARC.
