Classic/Antique Car Repair: Steering column removal, u bolts, 1991 camaro rs

Question
I recently purchased a 1991 camaro rs that has a pretty destroyed steering column.  The only thing left inside is the shaft and some broken plastic!  Someone tried to steal the car, then the owner attempted to fix it, and it got out of hand.  I ended up with it, and would like to simply replace the column because most of the inside parts are missing.  Can you give me fairly straightforward directions on the removal of the old column and installation of a new one?  Many thanks!

Answer
they are actaully pretty simple. You can split out shaft at knuckler on the way to steering box and column either has U-bolts or a four bolt sleeve colloar holding it inside the car. Once you replace one, you will never feel comfortable sitting behind one in a pending auto crash again.
