Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1929 chrysler, farm machinery, heavy equipment

Question
DICK I FOUND A COMPANY FOR THE REAR OIL WWW.PENRITE.US THEY HAVE ON THERE SITE OIL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EVERY CAR AND TRUCK, FOR MY CAR IT IS 140 G1 IS THAT OK OR STAY WITH THE 140 G4

Answer
I went to their web site and realized I had previously run into this same company.  As you probably noticed, they are in Australia, not that it is a problem.

I think their 140 GL-1 is probably exactly what your car would have used when it was new - and is therefore a good choice.  GL-4 is a later version used into the 50s, and still used in heavy equipment and farm machinery, and is much easier to find, but that doesn't make it a better choice for you.  I think you can use either one - whichever you can find conveniently.
